Peachy Bunny

Surprise, surprise!  I am back with another post today.  I have been loving the Peachy Keen Challenges, and have played along with many of them so far this year.  This week, Anything Goes is the theme, as long as you use a Peachy stamps, you can play along.  here is what I came up with:

So, this is the cute little window card that I gave my daughter for Easter.  It is a window card, I followed a tutorial from She's a Sassy Lady.  The card base was welded from shapes on Elegant Edges.  I then welded the bunny shadow from Simply Charmed to the frame, and the carrot shadow from From My Kitchen.  I used my daughters favorite colors - purple and pink as the primary colors for this card.

Isn't her little face FABULOUS!!  It is from Wide Eyed Kids, I so LOVE that stamp set - it makes everything so adorable!  I doodled on the card with my Sakura pens, and colored in her cheeks with my Stampin Up chalks.  The "happy easter" stamp is from Close to my Heart.  The paper is a mix of Bazzil, Stampin Up, CTMH and Recollections, mostly from my scraps box.

Gabrielle loved her cute little bunny card, and I was really happy with how it turned out.  I think these window cards are SO cute!!  I will have to make more.

A challenge or two for my cute little bunny card:
Peachy Keen - anything goes
Hooked on Crafts - easter
That Craft Place - anything but a square/ rectangle
Card Makin Mamas - make it girlie

Sprinkled With Love

Hi everyone, hope you're having a great day! A few weeks ago, during my regular hopping of blogs, I stumbled across THIS card. I thought it was adorable and knew I had to make one. Here is what I came up with:

Cute eh? I cut the base from Birthday Bash - I need to use that cartridge more often - the salt and pepper are from From My Kitchen. The adorable faces are from Peachy Keen - the girl is from Princess Faces and the boy is from Boy Mates. I was trying to decide what sentiment to use, and then I remembered that I had the PERFECT sentiment for this card on my Whimsical Design stamp set With Love:

I'll be back tomorrow with my Cricut Cardz Challenge DT card, and some exciting news, so I hope you all come back then!

Birthday, Sheep and Winners...

Hey everyone! We are having the most beautiful sunny day here in Nova Scotia. The perfect day for my birthday :) We are planning a casual family dinner, with food from my favorite pizza place, and my hubby baked me a cake... I hope we all survive!!

Today is challenge day over at Flaunt it Fridays. Todays challenge is to use the Sheep from Country Life. That is not a cartridge I have, but I thought the sheep from From My Kitcheb was close, so that's what I used. Here it is:

Cute eh? This is a 4x4 card. The shadowed mat is a tag from Gypsy Wanderings. It is a sape I had in my head, with no idea if it was on any cartridge. Gypsy Wandering has ton of great shapes in its tags section, it was the second cartridge I checked, I was pretty excited to find it so quickly :) The paper is all Stampin Up, except the patterned paper which is Creative Memories. i bought the stamp last week from my LSS. It's by CC Designs and is the AmyR Critter Set. Cute, isn't it? So hop on over to FIF, see what the rest of the DT came up with, and play along with us.

Now onto the winner from the Cricut Cardz Challenge blog hop. Thanks to every one who hopped along with us :) I now have more than 800 followers, and I wish I could give you all some blog candy...

It's a New Year!

It's Monday!! That means it's Challenge day over at Paper Playtime :) It is a new year, which means there are new Queens and a King in the realm, along with all new challenges and exciting prizes to be had. Today we are sponsored by Peachy Keen Stamps, so our challenge is FACES! Use faces on your projects. Here is what I came up with:

This year I made a recipe book for my mum and sisters, with some of our favorite family recipes. This is the title page. The font is from Robotz (my go to chunky font), the other cuts are from Winter Wonderland, EDPD and From My Kitchen. I used stamps from PKS. Isn't it cute?

My next page feautures one of my Gran's cookie recipes. The gingerbread man is from Smiley Cards, the font, Don Juan and the shape is cut for Winter Wonderland.

The next, my favorite pickle recipe :) These are easy and delicious! The cucumber is from Just Because Cards cartridge, I think they look SO adorable with Peachy Keen stamp faces! The shape under the recipe is from Once Upon a Princess and the font is All Mixed Up.

My mum and sisters really liked their books, and honestly they are going to be a work in progress. I did 10 recipes for each of them, but I will continue making more over the next few months, and send it to them. they are also going to pick some of their favorite recipes, and I will for those recipes too.

I hope you all pop over to Paper Playtime and see what Team #1 has come up with to inspire you, and be sure to play along for your chance to win some Peachy Keen Stamps. Trust me, if you don't have some, you NEED them, and they have AMAZING customer service :)

Holiday Baking Mini

Today is challenge day at Cricut Mini Albums. The theme this week was holiday baking. Thanksgiving was a month ago for us, so I focused on Christmas baking. Honestly, we don't do much other than cookies for Santa. Every year I set out with grand plans to bake, and they crash and burn, but I do have some favorite cookie recipies... Yummmm! This week I decided to make a toilet paper album. Each page has a tag tucked inside it. I followed THIS tutorial from Mary of CardzTV. Here is my little album"

The paper I used is all from a Chritmas stack from K & Company (I think...) I thought it was just adorable paper.

I topped each tag with black, and a ribbon. You can just see the edges of them, because they are tucked inside the toilet paper roll. Clever eh??

The side that has the patterned paper, will have some pictures on them. I have cute pics of the kids doing holiday baking from year to year.

I ran the toilet paper rolls through my Big Shot, to help flatten them. Then covered them with paper that was 6x4 (the width of my rolls).

The tags were cut at 4 inches from Sweet Treats. I will use them to put recipies on.

The rolls are held together with 2 eyelets at one end, for the rings to go through. The other end is left open for the tag.

I used lots of cartridges for this album. Sweet Treats for the tags, Cutting Up, From my Kitchen, Making the Grade, Sesame Street Font, for the words. Doodlecharms, Smiley Cards, Winter Frolic, Christmas Cheer and Mini Monsters for the little decorations on each page.

I think it turned out really cute! I may use it as a stocking stuffer for my mum. I think she'd really like it! Come back tomorrow for the winners of the blog hops!

Some challenges:
Bunny Zoe Crafts - christmas not a card
Easy Craft Projects - red
wee memories - use patterned paper
2 Sisters - christmas
Crazy 4 Challenges - christmas
Creative Cottage - for someone special at christmas

Paper Playtime Tag Book

It's Monday - which means it's Paper Playtime Challenge day!! This week the challenge is to use a clock, ticket or tag on your project. I decided to use tags, and make a tag album, a lttle birthday book where I could put birthdays for the month. I got the idea from the always brilliant Mary of Cardz TV. I followed her tutorial HERE Just a warning - this post is going to have a TON of pictures. Here we go:

The tags were all cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and more.

The little tabs were from From My Kitchen. I have never used whis cartridge before (don't tell my husband). I sized them on my Gypsy so they would be just under 2" wide, and would fit on the tag.

When putting the book together, I glued down my recipe cards first, and made sure I had everything in the right order.

I then glued the printed paper on the front, and the cardstock for the next month on the back. I actually managed not to mess any of them up! I was very proud of myself.

The paper is all from Close to My Heart. I love how easy it is to get the patterned paper and cardstock to match.

The little designs on the opposite side of each page are all cut from Doodlecharms. I forget how cute the cuts on that cartridge are!

Unlike with my last attempt at cutting chipboard, this one went so much better. I eased up on the pressure, and slowed it down a bit - it cut like butter.

The "chipboard" I used was cereal boxes. Perfect weight for the cricut, and good weight for regular handling of the book.

My title page, and all the birthday dates pages were printed on the computer.

I just adhered the birthday pages with a photo split, so I can easily replace the pages when they need updating or changing - this was really only a dry run. I need to check in my mum and MIL books, so my pages can be completely accurate.

I have added a hook to the shelf in my scrapping room, and am going to hang the book from it. That way I can make the birthday cards I need to in advance.

So that's it for today. Sorry for the really long post. I wanted to be able to show each page. I just love the idea for this. My mum saw it today, and liked it so much that I am making her one for Christmas. I know, I'm crazy :)
