It's a New Year!

It's Monday!! That means it's Challenge day over at Paper Playtime :) It is a new year, which means there are new Queens and a King in the realm, along with all new challenges and exciting prizes to be had. Today we are sponsored by Peachy Keen Stamps, so our challenge is FACES! Use faces on your projects. Here is what I came up with:

This year I made a recipe book for my mum and sisters, with some of our favorite family recipes. This is the title page. The font is from Robotz (my go to chunky font), the other cuts are from Winter Wonderland, EDPD and From My Kitchen. I used stamps from PKS. Isn't it cute?

My next page feautures one of my Gran's cookie recipes. The gingerbread man is from Smiley Cards, the font, Don Juan and the shape is cut for Winter Wonderland.

The next, my favorite pickle recipe :) These are easy and delicious! The cucumber is from Just Because Cards cartridge, I think they look SO adorable with Peachy Keen stamp faces! The shape under the recipe is from Once Upon a Princess and the font is All Mixed Up.

My mum and sisters really liked their books, and honestly they are going to be a work in progress. I did 10 recipes for each of them, but I will continue making more over the next few months, and send it to them. they are also going to pick some of their favorite recipes, and I will for those recipes too.

I hope you all pop over to Paper Playtime and see what Team #1 has come up with to inspire you, and be sure to play along for your chance to win some Peachy Keen Stamps. Trust me, if you don't have some, you NEED them, and they have AMAZING customer service :)

Hockey Birthday

What an amazing weekend for my little blog. My very first Blog Hop, and all sorts of new followers. I was so thrilled to take part, and now can`t wait for the next one :) I will post the winner of Lots of Pun tomorrow. I have to work a twelve hour day tomorrow, and will probably not get a chance to post the winner till tomorrow evening.

Here are todays cards. About 3 months ago, my nephew had a birthday. I asked him what he wanted me to make for his card. He chose a hockey card - Sidney Crosby if at all possible... he grew up about 20 minutes from where I live - most kids in Nova Scotia are Sidney Crosby fans, no matter what hockey team they cheer for :) This is what I came up with:

So I made this card on my Gypsy, welding the "birthday" to the card base. The font is from Robotz, and the base from George and Basic Shapes. The Hockey Player is from Every Day Paper Dolls, and the number 87 is from Alphalicious. Super cute, isn't it?

So fast forward a couple of months. One of Andrew's friends has a party, and Andrew wants to give him a Montreal Canadiens card. Enter my wonderful Gypsy. I pulled up my old hockey card, that I had saved. I created a Canadiens emblem out of Cutting Up, cut it out of appropriate colors, and VOILA!! A brand new card for a different little boy. Here it is:

Easy peasey!! Those of you who are observent, will see that I gained some adorable Peachy Keen Stamps between the 2 cards.

Challenges I am entering these cards into:
Always Crafting - birthday card
Other Lovelies - letter C (cardstock and Canadiens)
Secret Crafter - anything goes
One Stitch at a Time - birthday

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend, come back tomorrow to see if you won my giveaway from the blog hop yesterday :)

Better late than never...

So I was planning to post this this morning, but ran out of time. Here is my submission for this week's Cricut Cardz Challenge . The challenge was to make a fall card without using the colors brown, orange or yellow - now tell me that is not a challenge!! Pretty much everything I associate with fall involves those colors! Here is what I came up with:

The tree and grass are from Paper Doll Dress Up, the owl - which I welded with my Gypsy - is from Animal Kingdom. The leaf is from Disney's Mickey and Friends and the grass is from Every Day Paper Dolls. The paper is all Stampin Up, as is the ink I used for the stamped sky. I have never done that technique before, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out :)

My husband took one look at this card, and said what's with the spooky Halloween card? I disagree with him. I wanted this to look like a lovely fall night, with a full moon, and leaves falling, and an owl... somehow an owl means fall to me!

I hope you all come play along with us this week over at Cricut Cardz! It's lots of fun. I will be back tomorrow with some exciting news!! Hope you all have a great night!

School Time!

Two posts in one day - look at me!! Today at Cricut Cardz Challenge the theme was Back to School. I was inspired to make this cute little card on my Gypsy, while watching Harry Potter with my 8 year old. I love how I was able to multi-task - still spending time with him, and crafting too. I even managed to find some time to get it cut out :) The design team (of which I am now a part - see my earlier post today) has some great inspiration for you!

I used Locker Talk, cutting the bus at 5 inches, flipping it and welding it at the top. Fun and easy! The people are from Every Day Paper Dolls and the faces, from Peachy Keen Stamps. The sentiment is from a Close to My Heart set. I used mostly Stampin Up paper, though some was from my scraps box.

Challenges I am submitting this card for:

Cricut cardz Challenge - back to school
Little red Wagon - back to school
Paper Pretties - back to school
ABC Design Blog - Back to School
S2G Challenge - Back to school and yellow

I'll be back again tomorrow with another creation :)
