Animal Book

I'm back with another Wednesday post.  If you are looking for my Cricut Cardz Challenge submission, you can find it HERE, or just scroll down to the next post...  So, this is my submission for this week's Peachy Keen - Anything Goes Challenge.  I debated about what to do for this challenge.  My daughter has been wanting me to make her something with lots of animals for a while.  She is in primary, in French Immersion, and is learning to read, so Gabrielle and I decided to make a book.  It is in French, and uses Create a Critter and lots of cute Peachy Keen faces :)   It is designed to help her with her colors and learn the names of the animals in french.  Gabs chose the animals and decided on all the colors - I have spent the last few days getting it cut out.

The base of the book is cut from Elegant Edges using the book function.  The title is cut from Alphalicious.  the animals are all from Create a Critter.  The Peachy Keen Stamps used are from  Boy Mates, Princess Faces and Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed.  The book is titled "The Animals".

The shape on each page is from Elegant Edges.  I just bought that cartridge and I love it!  The pup and all of the other cuts are from Create a Critter.  the faces are from Critter Faces and Boy Mates.  The text says, "Here is a dog.  The dog is black and white"

Each page of the book is made out of cereal boxes.  Crafting is my favorite way to recycle :)  The owl is from Create a Critter and the faces are from Critter Faces and Boy Mates.  The text says "Here is an owl.  the owl is blue"

The fish and all other cuts are from Create a Critter.  The stamp is from Critter Faces.  I put it at a bit more of an angle than I had planned, but he's still cute :)  The text says "Here is a fish.  The fish is green"

Almost every piece of paper used for this whole project came out of my scrap boxes.  With my Cricut, I almost never throw paper away.  I can use big pieces and small pieces of scrap.  I must say, this project made a dent in my scraps boxes.  The super cute purple skunk is from CAC, as are the cloud and the stump.  The faces are from Wide Eyed Kids, and Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed.  The text reads "Here is a skunk.  The skunk is purple."

The sheep is from CAC.  The fence is from EDPD and the grass is from somewhere - I will have to look at my Gypsy to figure out where.  The face is from Critter Faces.  It reads "Here is a sheep.  The sheep is grey."

Again CAC for all the cuts.  The faces are from Princess Faces and Boy Mates.  The text says "Here is a bee.  The bee is yellow and black."

I know, shocking, most cuts are all from CAC, the grass is from Easter 2010.  The faces are Critter Faces and Wide Eyed Kids.  This page says "Here is a Pig.  The pig is pink."

This ducky is one of my favorite cuts from CAC.  His little face is from Critter Faces.  The text says "Here is a duck.  The duck is yellow and orange."

I wish I had moved this cute cow's face over about 3 cm.  It would have centered her a little better, but I think she's cute anyway.  The cut is from CAC - I will have to check on the grass - I should know this, but I looked at SO many grass on so many cartridges, that I'm not sure where it came from :)  Her cutie face is from Critter Faces.  The text says "Here is a cow.  The cow is brown and white."

last page :)  This little girl and all her cuts are from EDPD.  Her face is from Wide Eyed Kids.  It reads "Here is a girl, who's name is Gabrielle.  She has a red dress.  She love all the animals"  I typed up the little story on the computer, and used my Bind It All to bind it.  Voila - MANY hours later, my daughter has a new book!

She plans to bring it to school Monday, once March Break is over, and show it to her teacher and all her friends.  She has already read it to me twice, and is currently up reading it to her brother :)  I love how my crafting can be special for the whole family!  Hope you all like my little book.  See you back soon!
