Snow Fun!

It is challenge day over at Cooking with Cricut . Today's challenege is snow fun - snow men, snow balls, snow sports anything snow related! Here in the Maritimes we haven't had much snow, which makes me very happy. Winter is not my favorite season. Halifax is hosting the Canada Games next month, and they have built an outdoor skating oval. It was just opened to the public for free skates. We are hoping to take the kids this weekend. Skating is so fun and one of the few winter sports I like. So I came up with this card:

I cut the skater from Winter Frolic, the "tag" she is sitting on is from Once Upon a Princess, manipulated on my Gypsy to be the right size. The stamp is from My Favorite Things's Pure Innocence line. the paper is all Stampin Up.

I hope you all head over to Cooking with Cricut and show us your favorite winter fun :) Have a fabulous day, come on back on Friday for the Hello Kitty Blog Hop, and maybe some blog candy :)

Some challenges:
Fab'n'Funky - anything goes
Totally Gorjuss - for someone special
One Stitch at a Time - anything goes

Pile on the Challenges

Santa was generous to me this year :) I got 4 new cartridges, Birthday Bash, Rock Princess, Boys Will Be Boys and Simply Charmed, aren't I a lucky girl?? I decided to cut a circle card, using the card function on Birthday Bash and the super cute little elephant :) Here it is:

I cut the card at 5 inches, I had never used the cartridge before, so it was all a bit of an experiment. It was the easiest circle card I ever made, and I love the scallops. The elephant was cut at 3.7 inches, I made sure it all fit with my Gypsy. the Tons of Fun stamp is from my huge Simply Sweet Stamp set. The stamp I used inside is from Scrappy Moms Stamps. The paper I used is mostly SU, and the ribbon and buttons I bought at my LSS.

I decided for my first challenge entry of the new year, I would follow Pile It On Challenges example - submit my card to as many challneges as possible. So here goes :)

Pile It On - brand spankin new (Birthday Bash cartridge)
Anything Goes - letter c (circle card)
Crazy 4 Challenges - celebrations
Creative Inspirations - something new (cartridge)

Woo hoo!

I have exciting news! I have been chosen to be a designer for Flaunt It Fridays! It is a fairly new challenge blog and it is tons of fun! Each week, they choose a specific cut from a cricut cartridge, and then you get to cut ut and flaunt it, however you want :) And if you don't have that cartridge you can still play - just find a similar cut on another cartridge and use it. Doesn't that sound like fun??

January 7th, the Flaunt It Fridays team is celebrating with a weekend long blog hop featuring Hello Kitty! Who doesn't love Hello Kitty??

Hope you can all join us for our hop, and be sure to head over to Flaunt It Fridays. This week we are flaunting the Martini glass from From My Kitchen. Tell me that isn't perfect for New Years!

I'll be back tomorrow with a card from my favorite new cartridge, so be sure to pop back then.

It's a New Year!

It's Monday!! That means it's Challenge day over at Paper Playtime :) It is a new year, which means there are new Queens and a King in the realm, along with all new challenges and exciting prizes to be had. Today we are sponsored by Peachy Keen Stamps, so our challenge is FACES! Use faces on your projects. Here is what I came up with:

This year I made a recipe book for my mum and sisters, with some of our favorite family recipes. This is the title page. The font is from Robotz (my go to chunky font), the other cuts are from Winter Wonderland, EDPD and From My Kitchen. I used stamps from PKS. Isn't it cute?

My next page feautures one of my Gran's cookie recipes. The gingerbread man is from Smiley Cards, the font, Don Juan and the shape is cut for Winter Wonderland.

The next, my favorite pickle recipe :) These are easy and delicious! The cucumber is from Just Because Cards cartridge, I think they look SO adorable with Peachy Keen stamp faces! The shape under the recipe is from Once Upon a Princess and the font is All Mixed Up.

My mum and sisters really liked their books, and honestly they are going to be a work in progress. I did 10 recipes for each of them, but I will continue making more over the next few months, and send it to them. they are also going to pick some of their favorite recipes, and I will for those recipes too.

I hope you all pop over to Paper Playtime and see what Team #1 has come up with to inspire you, and be sure to play along for your chance to win some Peachy Keen Stamps. Trust me, if you don't have some, you NEED them, and they have AMAZING customer service :)

Cheers!!

This week over at Paper Playtime the challenge is to create a New Year's project. I could not resist playing with one of my new cartridges. Santa was good to me and I was gifted 4 cartridges (yay!!). One of them was Simply Charmed which is so stinkin cute!! Here is what I came up with:

The glass is cut at 2.5 inches, the bottle at 3.5 inches and "cheers" at 1". The faces on this are VERY small - I had to do some cutting and poking to get them to work. The paper is all a mix, but the patterned paper is from CTMH. I think it is a really cute card. I can't wait to play with the rest of my cartridges :)

Come on over to Paper Playtime and show us your New Year creations!

I wish you all a peaceful holiday season and blessing for the New year. May 2011 be wonderful for us all!

Merry Christmas!!

I am only a day late... but Merry Christmas to everyone in the blogosphere :) I hope Snata found you all, and that you all enjoyed the blessings of the season - time with family and friends, beautiful music and some wonderful food. I am so late posting this card - it was my design team submission for this week's challenge at Cooking with Cricut. The challenge was the True Meaning of Christmas.

The angel is from Joys of the Season. I used my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder to make the background and dragged my white ink pad across it to help showcase the snowflakes a little. The stamp is embossed with gold and says "O holy night the stars are brightly shining". It is from the Cornish Farms Set that I have used so mucg this season.

I hope you all head over to CWC and share with us, your meaningful creations :)

Many blessings to you and yours!

Present for Andrew

Just a quick post today - I changed jobs a few weeks ago, and am back working nights. I jusy finished 3 - 12 hour nights this morning, so I have done NO crafting at all the past few days, and I have SO much to do before Christmas!! Any who... my son has recently developed a love of drawing. I decided to buy him a sketch book and some drawing materials for Christmas. The sketch book looked VERY boring for a little boy! I decided to make it look a little more fun :)

Cute eh? I used the Smiley Cards cartridge for the pencil, and Robotz for the letters. I LOVE that font! it is so cute, and made Robotz a VERY worthwhile purchase for me, given that I haven't cut out too many robots yet :) All I did was glue it all on to the cover of the sketch book with my Zig 2 Way glue. I bought the book at Walmart, it cost me about $7. I really hope he likes it :)

I must get back to crafting. I still have 4 tag boxes to finish, and I need to get some pages worked on for a Recipe book I am making for my mum and sisters. Hope you all have a wonderful day :)
